This series is part of a book that accompanies an Installation called Hearing Shadows. The Installation is a collaboration with composer Jean Martin.
A series of photographs, mostly taken India, of flowers that had either fallen or were fading. I found their beauty very affecting and wanted to capture their continued light but also the darkness to come.
My interest in buildings that have some protective covering began with a house in Spain that had once been grand but now was in a state of extreme dilapidation. It made me think of Miss Havisham in Dicken’s Great Expectations; a jilted bride still waiting…..
These images form part of a book that I made in 2017. They are largely reflections in water or through glass.
